A Case of Fracture of Patella Treated by Metallic Sutures

چکیده
injury, I opened the joint, under spray, by a semilunar-shaped incision, extending from side to side across the front of the joint, its convexity passing over the lower part of the patella. By reflecting upwards the flap thus formed, the patella was completely exposed, and was found broken into five pieces. A horizontal fracture divided the bone into two nearly equal portions which were widely apart, the space between being filled with a soft clot. A strip from the fibrous expansion over the patella was stretched

Open vertical sagittal fracture patella with fracture lateral condyle femur: approach to a rare injury
Patellar fracture is a relatively uncommon fracture especially the vertical sagittal type. In cases of high energy trauma injury, it is usually associated with fracture of ipsilateral distal femur or proximal tibia. However, the combination of vertical sagittal fracture patella and ipsilateral fracture lateral condyle is very rare. This necessitates judicious diagnosis and appropriate managemen...
متن کاملPatellar Fractures: An Innovative Surgical Technique With Transosseous Suture to Avoid Implant Removal.
PURPOSE To describe a new surgical procedure and its outcomes: osteosynthesis with high-resistance sutures, avoiding metallic implants. Open sky osteosynthesis with Kirschner and cerclage wiring is the current gold standard for patella fractures. Favorable functional outcomes have been observed, although implant removal is required in many cases due to the prominent wires under the skin. New im...

Crossing Suture Technique for the Osteochondral Fractures Repair of Patella
Osteochondral fracture of the patella is a common concomitant injury of the knee, especially in lateral patellar instability, and the importance of early stable fixation with minimal complication and early mobilization should be emphasized. Screws and Kirschner wires both absorbable and nonabsorbable have been the common mode of fixation of these fractures. Nevertheless, these fixation techniqu...
متن کاملStress avulsion of the tibial tuberosity after tension band wiring of a patellar fracture: a case report
INTRODUCTION To the best of our knowledge there is no other report of an elderly patient who was surgically treated for a patellar fracture with tension band wiring and who subsequently suffered from an avulsion fracture of the tibial tuberosity. The combination of a patellar fracture and avulsion of the patellar ligament has only been described as complication after bone-patellar tendon-bone a...
